Well, as everyone probably knows by now, hurricane Irene delt our camp a devastating blow. Most of the buildings are heavily damaged and the grounds look like a bomb has gone off right in the middle of the camp! But in the middle of it all, a friend of mine, Ms. Mellisa Starr, took this awesome picture. The Bible is one of the ones that was in the foyer book case in the dorm. Yes, the camp might be a mess right now, but the future holds great things, I'm certain. Six feet of water came through the facility and pretty much destroyed everything in its path. Nearly all of the residents of Vandemere were flooded. Many people are calling and coming by. I've already had to start a rebuilding fund, because people want to help. That financial help is truly needed and appreciated. We have been planning our building expansion for several years, and now might just be the perfect time to do just that! I made the decision to leave on Friday before the hurricane came in on Saturday. When I arrived back here at the camp on Sunday morning, I just couldn't believe my eyes. But the vision of a bigger and better facility automatically came to my mind. Sure, it was hard to see the camp in this condition, but I can look ahead and see an even better picture of this ministry. Please pray for this ministry! For now, we will have to cancel most of the remaining events that are scheduled for the year, unless you just want to really camp out and eat out!
